But the Georgian military road – the road to the gray-haired old man – Kazbegi lies in an endless series of stunning mountain landscapes. This road is especially beautiful in the area of the Zhinvali reservoir. We will see the confluence of two Aragvi rivers: Black Aragvi and White. These landscapes are mesmerizing, and time just flies by.
In addition to landscapes, a trip to Kazbegi involves acquaintance with man-made sights created over several millennia: the Jvari monastery on the mountain above ancient Mtskheta, the Zhinvali reservoir, the Ananuri fortress, the ancient Gergeti Trinity church, the castle of Queen Tamara in Daryali, medieval watchtowers.
The visiting card of Kazbegi and all its surroundings is the Church of the Holy Trinity (Tsminda Sameba) of the XIV century. It is located at an altitude of 2,170 m, on a steep cliff in the village of Gergeti, on the right bank of the Chkheri (a tributary of the Terek), right above the town of Kazbegi. Tsminda Sameba is not only a temple, but also a fortress. During the invasion of Tbilisi by the Persians (1795), the cross of St. Nina was hidden here. The entire architectural complex of Tsminda Sameba includes the Church of the Holy Trinity of the XIV century, the bell tower of the second half of the XIV century. and living quarters of the 15th century. There is also a small observation deck, from which an amazing panorama opens up to the top of Kazbek, the resort and the mountains.
The highlight of our program is a jeep tour to an altitude of 2170m, where we will visit the business card of this region – the Church of the Holy Trinity (Tsminda Sameba) of the XIV century. and whoever does not want to, will just sit in a cozy cafe and admire the gray-bearded old man – Kazbek with his eternal snows and valley glaciers descending along the slopes.

Today our way along the famous Georgian Military Highway through Ancient Mtskheta, Zhinvali reservoir, Ananuri temple, the confluence of the White and Black Aragvi, the Gudauri ski resort to the top of pleasure – to visit Kazbegi (5047m).
No, we will not climb this peak, we will be at its foot in Kazbegi (Stepantsminda). This small town is located at the foot of Mount Kazbek, in the upper reaches of the Terek River, at an altitude of 1750 m above sea level.
