Description

Initially, it was planned to call the program “Innocent Georgia”. But it does not sound quite familiar and correct: how can there be Georgia without wine? Of course not! Wine in Georgia is a symbol of the country, it is a brand, it is a national treasure. Therefore, we chose the name “Innocent Adventures in Georgia’s Wine”.

Excursion to Mtskheta – the ancient capital of Georgia (IV century BC – V century AD), now the religious capital, included in the UNESCO world heritage.

Jvari is a basilica of the 5th century. and the temple of the 6th-7th centuries, the place described by M.Yu. Lermontov in the poem “Mtsyri”.

Sightseeing tour of Old Tbilisi (V-XVIII centuries). Walking tour through the old streets with authentic architecture; the area of sulfur baths, where, according to legend, King Vakhtang Gorgasali founded the capital; Metekhi plateau; bridge of 100 thousand great martyrs; the glass Peace Bridge and the adjacent Rike Park; Narikala fortress; Chardin is a street of nightlife bars and clubs.

In addition to the three churches built at different times, on the territory of the monastery you will see the ruins of various buildings, most of which were destroyed by the troops of Shah Abbas. You will see the ruins of the bishop’s house, the wine storage (marani) and the wine press, where the monks themselves pressed grapes to make wine.

Visit to a local winery with tasting.
