CUISINE AND RESTAURANTS

CHEESE CAPITAL - ZUGDIDI! Georgia is famous for its cheeses no less than France and Holland. One of the most common varieties of cheese comes from Samegrelo, and it is better to try them here. The most striking example is suluguni. Traditionally, nadugs are served to the Mingrelian table - cheese cones stuffed with curd mass with mint. Inside the cones is a tender boiled whey, which tastes very much like Italian ricotta.

Transport

By car, the journey from Tbilisi to Zugdidi, one of the cities of Samegrelo, takes about four hours. You can also get there by train - day or night, but it will take much more time than a car trip - about nine hours.

And, of course, Svan salt is a mixture of mountain herbs, salt and special spices that make up a universal seasoning for vegetable salads, meat and fish dishes, soups and sauces.
